According to AutoCar, the Italian car maker is set to reveal a rear-wheel drive Lamborghini Huracan at the Los Angeles Auto Show later this month. This doesn’t come as a surprise, as the RWD model for the highly successful Huracan is only logical and perfectly expected for the Italian car maker. It will probably feature an uprated engine, a lighter body weight and overall, a bit more performance oriented nature as well.

Chances are the rear-wheel drive Huracan will be a limited edition model. It will probably come with a higher price tag than the standard vehicle. On the other hand, it will keep interest for the Lamborghini’s entry level model flowing, giving the car maker preferable increase in sales and more marketing value. The idea of a rear-wheel drive V10 powered sports car is and always will be appealing, thus the potential release of such a car from Lamborghini is quite normal. How will it compare to the standard Huracan in terms of power, weight and handling, still remains to be seen.

Currently the Huracán maintains the 5.2 L naturally aspirated V10 engine from the Gallardo, tuned for 610 PS (449 kW; 602 hp). To ensure its balance and performance, the car is mid-engined, thus providing an excellent set of performance virtues in such a configuration. The V10 engine installed provides the car with enough power to propel the car from 0-62mph (0-100km/h) in 3.2 seconds, while reaching a top speed of 202mph or 325km/h for us Europeans for example.
